We all live such busy lives and forget to actually be present in what we do and in each and every moment, so this book is a beautiful reminder to stop and appreciate the life around us. WHAT'S YOUR BEAUTY MOTTO?      Less is more. I love dewy, glowy skin, a pink blush and a tiny bit mascara and I'm out the door. WHAT'S YOUR BEST BEAUTY HACK? Best beauty hack is celery juice or lemon water in the morning. It works wonders for the skin but also my body. I also make sure to get 8-9 hours of sleep. I go to bed before 10 PM most nights. WHAT ARE TWO THINGS YOU CAN'T LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT? I never leave the house without my Sweed blush and of course my Anine Bing sunglasses.  Shop Anine's favorite blush here. WHAT'S YOUR HAPPY PLACE? Home. I love being home. We live in beautiful Montecito and just love our house, the beach and nature close by and the peaceful energy I'm surrounded by here. I don't take any of it for grated and am just so grateful for the life we have built. Beautiful Montecito, California.   HOW DO YOU RECHARGE AND GET ENERGY? I love doing hot yoga, hiking or sometimes I recharge by just laying on the couch watching a movie and eating my favorite candy. Life is all about balance :) I also love singing and writing music. That always fills me with joy and new energy after a stressful time. WHAT IS THIS CHAPTER IN YOUR LIFE ABOUT? Balance. I am hoping to find more balance after 12 intense years of building a company while raising two kids, so that is my goal for the year ahead. BEST BUSINESS ADVICE? WHAT DOES A TYPICAL TUESDAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU? I always start my day with breakfast with the family. Then I drop the kids off at school and my day gets busy with zoom meetings, answering emails, doing design research etc. I work from home most days but go into my office once a week where I meet with my different teams. I spend most of my time in the design studio and everything creative. I also do weekly meetings with my executive team who update me on how the overall business is doing, where we are opening stores next and we brainstorm what's next for Anine Bing. Other days I'm on photo shoots. We recently shot Kate Moss which was a highlight for sure. I feel very grateful I get to do what I love. We recently celebrated our Sweed x Lydia Millen launch at Space NK in London. Lydia is a loyal Sweed friend and has used our products for years. The collaboration came to life organically when I asked if Lydia would like to create a lip collection, which transformed into The Eternal Bloom edit. SWEED X NCLA: Galentine's Tea Party

Under the sun and blue skies of Los Angeles, we hosted a Galentine´s Tea Party together with our Sweed friends Elin and Anh-Thu; founders of NCLA. I have known the girls for years and we've been supporting each other along the way through our beauty-brand journeys. I love their incredible body scrubs and another fun fact is that Elin and Anh-Thu are half Swedish. This day was all about love, female empowerment and creativity. Elle Italia: The eyelash growth serum everyone is talking about

There's an eyelash growth serum everyone has been talking about for months now: it has become popular and gone viral because of its effectiveness. It's the Pro Eyelash Growth Serum from Sweed, a young brand founded by the Swedish-Lebanese makeup artist Gabriella Elio. It contains nourishing peptides, biotin, pantheon, hyaluronic acid, vitamins and betacarotene, as well as vegan keratin for a full transformation of the eyelashes. Why we say no to prostaglandin analogues

PROSTAGLANDIN IN COSMETICS Unfortunately 99% of the eyelash growth serums on the market today contains prostaglandin analogues. Prostaglandin analogues are synthetic hormones that you don't want to have in any of your beauty products. It's been banned for use in cosmetic products in the EU since 2013. Nowadays you can find prostaglandin analogues that is a synthetic version that works in similar way with the same side effects due to a very similar molecular composition.  What about castor oil?Unfortunately it has been shown that castor oil has the same side effect as prostaglandin analogues. It’s official! Sweed are finally coming to the U.S and I couldn’t be happier. Beauty Insiders is the format where we meet some of the world's most celebrated makeup artists who's frequently seen using Sweed. We are used to admire their work from distance. This week we had a chat with Jessica Hedman, who had the courage to quit her job as a financial manager during the pandemic to start working with passion - makeup. Her clients include names such as Matilda Djerf and Zara Larsson. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING IN THE INDUSTRY? I would say I’ve been working as a makeup artist for almost three years! I started doing makeup as a hobby just over three years ago. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MAKEUP-LOOK YOU'VE CREATED? Oh, this is hard… But I did a “Holiday Look” on Matilda Djerf in November last year with glowy skin, sparkly eyelids and a glossy berry lip. I’m obsessed with that look!   WHAT'S YOUR BEAUTY MOTTO IN LIFE?      WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE SWEED PRODUCT? No Lash-Lash 1000%!!!!!! They are ALWAYS in my kit. If we were quiet, it would probably take about 30 minutes, but we like to talk a lot and not stress so I would say around 45-60 minutes.    WHAT'S YOUR BEST BEAUTY HACK/TRICK? This might be a boring answer, but I love a lighter coverage on the whole face. I almost never use foundation nowadays unless I have to. I usually go for a light coverage base and then use a more coverage concealer where it’s needed. This makes the base look a lot fresher! IF YOU WERE A BEAUTY PRODUCT, WHAT WOULD YOU BE AND WHY? A brownish/pink nude lipliner, like"Cindy"! Nothing beats a perfect nude lip combo ✨   If Jessica was a beauty product she would be "Cindy"

New Year New Me

Sweed is going through a big change and as you might have noticed - last year we changed the name from Sweed Lashes to Sweed. I've been gathering all my experience and knowledge from the past 21 years as a makeup artist and put them into outstanding products that are launching during 2023. "Professional Performance are the lead words in every little detail and aspect of each product." When I create products, I always think about makeup artists around the world and want them to love our new products. As a professional you know all about quality and performance.  I've been into this clean girl look my whole life and will bring it in to life with these new groundbreaking products.
